Tarangire National Park After breakfast, your safari guide will pick you up from your accommodation and begin the journey to Tarangire National Park. Along the way, enjoy a scenic drive of approximately two and a half hours on well-maintained tarmac roads. The park takes its name from the Tarangire River, which flows through the area and provides a vital water source for wildlife, particularly during the dry season. As you explore the park, look out for the large elephant families that frequently gather near the river. In addition, you may spot giraffes, bushbucks, hartebeests, and other wildlife roaming across the savannah. Wildlife and Scenic Landscapes Meanwhile, keep watch for predators such as lions and leopards, which follow the abundant herbivore populations. Tarangire also offers exceptional birdwatching opportunities, with a remarkable variety of breeding bird species. Furthermore, the park’s landscape features enormous ancient baobab trees, some of which may have stood for more than a thousand years. Picnic Lunch and Transfer to Karatu Around midday, enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated site within the park. Afterward, continue your game drive and take in more of Tarangire’s spectacular scenery and wildlife. Later, depart the park and travel to your accommodation in Karatu, where you can relax after an exciting day of exploration. Finally, enjoy a comfortable overnight stay at Ngorongoro Coffee Lodge. Following breakfast, you'll ascend into the cooler realms of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. There will be an opportunity to pause and behold the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater. Subsequently, you'll traverse through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area en route to the Serengeti, entering from the southern part of the park. The Serengeti is renowned for its expansive grasslands, offering exceptional wildlife viewing opportunities. The migration occurs throughout the year, requiring knowledge of the right locations for observation. Following breakfast, you'll set off toward Ngorongoro Crater, with hopes of encountering more wonders along the way! Ngorongoro Crater, concealed by steep volcanic walls, encompasses a pristine wilderness featuring expansive savannahs, patches of acacia woodland, and shimmering lakes and swamps. This geological marvel was formed two to three million years ago when a large volcano erupted and collapsed upon itself. The descent into the crater is an adventure in its own right. Upon reaching the crater floor, you'll be greeted by vast herds of wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, and over 500 bird species. The crater offers an excellent opportunity to spot the endangered black rhinos, which occasionally roam the open grasslands. This morning, you'll embark on a journey to Lake Manyara National Park, which marks the final destination of this extraordinary safari! Despite being one of the narrowest parks in Africa, it boasts epic features, with the Great Rift Escarpment towering over Lake Manyara's western boundary. The park's focal point is its namesake, a shallow salt lake that expands and contracts with the seasons, serving as a habitat for thousands of wading birds, including flamingos and over 500 other bird species. Keep an eye out for baboons and elephants amidst the park's dense evergreen forest, and be on the lookout for the renowned tree-climbing lions that have gained fame throughout Africa. You'll relish a picnic lunch within the park before embarking on a game drive. Following your wildlife exploration, you'll be dropped off at a location of your choice, such as Arusha, Kilimanjaro Airport, or Arusha Airport.
