4 Days – Mount Meru Trekking

DAY 1: MOMELA GATE -MIRIAKAMBA HUTS

Elevation:1597m/5240ft to 2503m/8212ft Altitude gained: 906m Following breakfast, leave Arusha around 8:30 a.m. and head towards Momella Gate. Upon arrival, complete the necessary paperwork and commence the ascent, accompanied by a picnic lunch, towards the initial hut known as Miriakamba Hut. Spend the evening at Miriakamba Hut, where dinner will be provided, after a trek lasting approximately 3 ½ hours.

DAY 2: MIRIAKAMBA HUTS – SADDLE HUTS

Elevation: 2503m/8212ft to 3560m/11,680ft Altitude gained: 1057m Following breakfast, we continue our ascent towards the second hut known as Saddle. This segment of the climb is notably steeper compared to the initial part, lasting approximately 2 ½ hours. In the afternoon, clients have the option to venture towards the summit of Little Meru peak and return. Dinner and overnight accommodations will be provided at Saddle Hut.

DAY 3: SADDLE HUT- SUMMIT

Elevation: 3560m/11,680ft to 4566m/14980ft Altitude gained: 1006m Descent to 3560m/11680ft Altitude lost: 1006m Awaken in the middle of the night and enjoy a cup of tea before embarking on the ascent to the summit of Big Meru peak. Navigate across rocky terrain to reach the summit and return to Saddle Hut for a hearty breakfast. The remainder of the day will be dedicated to rest. Lunch, dinner, and overnight accommodation will be provided at Saddle Hut.

DAY 4: SADDLE HUT – MOMELLA GATE

Elevation:3560m/11,680ft to 1597m/5240ft Altitude lost:1963m Depart from Saddle Hut and descend to Momella Gate through the first hut (Miriakamba), where transportation will be arranged to Arusha or Moshi. Enjoy an overnight stay at your hotel in Arusha
