Overnight: stay
The entire day is dedicated to exploring the Serengeti through exhilarating game drives. Renowned for its abundant wildlife including impala, buffalo, crocodile, and hippo, the Serengeti is most famous for its vast migrating herds of zebra, antelope, and wildebeest. Their migration patterns are dictated by rainfall, shifting from the northern woodlands and hills to the southern grassy plains in November and December, and returning north during the longer rainy season from April to June. In addition to witnessing these iconic migrations, there's a chance to encounter resident predators like leopards, cheetahs, and lions, playing their vital role in the ecosystem. After an unforgettable day, we'll return to your accommodation for relaxation, dinner, and a night's rest amidst the endless plains of the Serengeti.
Overnight: Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge
Following breakfast, you'll depart from Serengeti towards the Ngorongoro Crater. There's a chance to spot the renowned "Big Five" - lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard - en route to the crater. This UNESCO World Heritage Site, formed millions of years ago, boasts a depth of 600 meters and spans approximately 260 square kilometers. With its dense animal population of around 25,000, the crater offers unparalleled game viewing opportunities in Tanzania. Arriving at the crater rim before lunch, you'll descend into the crater, quickly encountering wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, elephants, and a plethora of bird species. With luck, you may even catch a glimpse of the endangered black rhino amidst the grasslands.
