An Sejova Safaris representative will greet you at the airport and transport you to your lodging in Arusha. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the opportunity to unwind and get ready for the exciting adventure ahead. Arusha, a bustling city, serves as a gateway to safaris in northern Tanzania, with many travelers passing through. . Accommodation: Lodge
After breakfast, your Arem Safari guide will pick you up from your accommodation. You'll then journey to Tarangire National Park, a drive of approximately two and a half hours on well-maintained tarmac roads. Named after the Tarangire River that flows through it, this park serves as the primary water source for wildlife in the region during the dry season, earning it the nickname 'river of warthogs'. Tarangire is renowned for its elephant herds, often seen gathering near the river. Other sightings may include giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests, closely followed by predators like lions and leopards. The park boasts an impressive array of breeding bird species, surpassing any other location on Earth. Additionally, you'll encounter the majestic Baobab trees, some of which are believed to have lived for over a millennium. Enjoy lunch at a designated picnic area within the park. Following your game drive, you'll proceed to your accommodation in Karatu Accommodation: Lodge
Following breakfast, you'll embark on a drive towards the cooler terrains of Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The initial glimpse of Ngorongoro Crater presents a sight akin to a forgotten realm. Concealed within its steep volcanic walls lies a pristine wilderness, featuring vast savannahs, patches of acacia woodland, and shimmering lakes and swamps. The Crater's formation dates back two to three million years when a massive volcano erupted and collapsed upon itself, forming an expansive area spanning 260 km². Renowned for its geological marvels, the Crater also serves as a natural sanctuary, harboring some of the highest densities of large mammals across the African continent. Upon descending into the Crater, you'll be greeted by an abundance of wildlife, including wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, and over 500 bird species. Notably, the Crater offers a prime opportunity to spot the endangered black rhinoceros. Subsequently, you'll traverse through Ngorongoro Conservation Area en route to the Serengeti, entering from the southern part of the park. Accommodation: Lodge
The Serengeti is undeniably breath-taking. Renowned for its expansive open grasslands, it offers unparalleled wildlife viewing opportunities. Remaining virtually unchanged for millions of years, the Serengeti boasts a climate and vegetation that have stood the test of time. While it teems with diverse wildlife, its claim to fame lies in the annual Great Migration. Witnessing vast herds of wildebeest, accompanied by numerous zebras and antelopes, traversing the landscape in search of fresh pastures is a sight to behold. The migration occurs throughout the year; one simply needs to know where to look! Rather than asking when the migration happens, the real question should revolve around the optimal locations to observe these animals during specific times of the year. Apart from its iconic scenery, encountering predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards is highly probable, adding to the transformative nature of the experience. As the afternoon sets in, you'll commence your journey back to Karatu, with hopes of encountering more wonders along the way. Accommodation: Lodge
Following breakfast, you'll embark on a journey to Lake Manyara National Park, a compact yet remarkably diverse reserve located 120km west of Arusha. Everything within this park seems to exist on a different scale—it's both intimate (being one of Africa's narrowest parks) and majestic (with the imposing Great Rift Escarpment towering over Lake Manyara's western edge). The park's focal point is its namesake, a shallow salt lake that expands and contracts with the changing seasons, providing habitat for thousands of wading birds, including flamingos, alongside over 500 other bird species. Keep an eye out for baboons and elephants amidst the park's dense evergreen forests, and be on the lookout for the renowned tree-climbing lions that have garnered fame across Africa. Enjoy a picnic lunch within the park before concluding your game drive. Bid farewell to your guide, who will drop you off at a location of your choice, such as Arusha, Kilimanjaro Airport, or Arusha Airport.
