Your Arem Safari guide will fetch you from your lodging post-breakfast. From there, you'll embark on a journey to Tarangire National Park, about a two and a half-hour drive on well-maintained tarmac roads. The park derives its name from the Tarangire River, serving as the primary water source for wildlife during dry spells. Renowned for its elephant gatherings by the river, Tarangire also hosts giraffes, bushbucks, hartebeests, and an array of predators like lions and leopards. Tarangire boasts more breeding bird species than anywhere else globally, alongside its iconic ancient Baobab trees, some rumored to be over a millennium old. Day 3

Ngorongoro Crater to Serengeti National Park

Following breakfast, you'll ascend into the cooler reaches of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The initial sight of the Ngorongoro Crater presents a scene akin to an ancient realm forgotten by time. Shielded by steep volcanic walls, this pristine wilderness encompasses vast savannahs, clusters of acacia woodland, and shimmering lakes and marshes. Formed from the catastrophic explosion and subsequent collapse of a massive volcano some two to three million years ago, the crater spans an area of 260 km². Renowned for its geological wonders and as a sanctuary for an array of wildlife, it boasts one of the densest populations of large mammals on the African continent. Descending into the crater, you'll swiftly find yourself amid numerous wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, and over 500 bird species. The crater offers prime opportunities to spot the endangered black rhinoceros. After exploring the crater, you'll journey through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area en route to the Serengeti, accessing the park from its southern entrance.

Day 4

Serengeti National Park Full Day

The entirety of today is dedicated to exhilarating game drives across the Serengeti. Renowned for its rich biodiversity, the Serengeti teems with a plethora of wildlife, including impalas, buffalos, crocodiles, and hippos. However, it is most famed for the grand migratory herds of zebras, antelopes, and wildebeests. The migration patterns are dictated by rainfall and vary annually. In November and December, the herds migrate from the northern woodlands and hills to the southern grassy plains, while they return to the north during the lengthier rainy season from April to June. In addition to witnessing the majestic migration, there's a chance to encounter the resident predators such as leopards, cheetahs, and lions, each playing a vital role in the intricate circle of life. After an awe-inspiring day amidst nature's spectacle, we'll retreat to your accommodation for an evening of relaxation, dinner, and a well-deserved rest beneath the vast expanse of the Serengeti's starlit sky.

Day 5

Serengeti National Park to Karatu

The Serengeti is undeniably magnificent, renowned for its expansive open grasslands that offer unparalleled opportunities for wildlife sightings. Its climate and vegetation have remained virtually unchanged for millions of years, adding to its allure. However, its crowning glory is undoubtedly the annual Great Migration, where vast herds of wildebeest, accompanied by zebras and antelopes, embark on a perpetual quest for fresh grazing. This remarkable spectacle unfolds throughout the year, provided one knows where to look. Therefore, the focus shifts to identifying the optimal locations to observe these migrations during specific times of the year. In addition to its iconic landscapes, the Serengeti presents ample chances to encounter its formidable predators, including lions, cheetahs, and leopards, adding an extra layer of excitement to the experience. Indeed, it's a transformative journey that leaves a lasting impression. As the afternoon draws near, we'll commence our return journey to Karatu, with hopes of encountering more marvels along the way!

Day 6

Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha

Following breakfast, we'll embark on a journey to Lake Manyara National Park, situated approximately 120km west of Arusha. This park offers a unique experience characterized by its distinctive scale; while compact, it boasts an epic ambiance, with the imposing Great Rift Escarpment dominating its western boundary. At the heart of the park lies its namesake, a shallow salt-lake spanning a significant portion of its area. This lake, subject to seasonal fluctuations, serves as a habitat for myriad wading birds, including flamingos and an impressive array of over 500 other avian species. As we traverse through the park's verdant evergreen forests, keep an eye out for sightings of baboons and elephants, which often frequent these lush habitats. Notably, be on the lookout for the famed tree-climbing lions, an iconic feature of African wildlife. We'll enjoy a delightful picnic lunch amidst the park's picturesque scenery before concluding our exhilarating game drive.
