Day 1

LONDROSSI GATE – MTI MKUBWA CAMP:

Elevation: 2,389 m / 7,838 ft to 2,785 m / 9,137 ft Altitude Gain: 396 m / 1,299 ft After breakfast, depart from Arusha for a scenic four-hour drive toward the entrance of Kilimanjaro National Park

. The journey takes you through picturesque mountain villages and beautiful countryside before reaching the park gate. Once there, we will complete the registration and permit procedures. While our team prepares for the trek, take some time to enjoy the lively atmosphere as trekking crews organize their equipment for the days ahead. Afterward, begin your hike through the lush rainforest. Along the winding trail, your experienced guide will introduce you to the area's unique flora, fauna, and wildlife. The peaceful forest surroundings provide a wonderful introduction to your Kilimanjaro adventure. However, the lower sections of the trail can become muddy and slippery, particularly after rainfall. Therefore, we recommend wearing gaiters and using trekking poles for better grip, balance, and comfort. As you gain elevation, enjoy the changing scenery and prepare for the exciting days ahead on the Lemosho Route.

LONDROSSI GATE – MTI MKUBWA CAMP:
Day 2

MTI MKUBWA CAMP – SHIRA I CAMP:

Elevation: 2,785 m / 9,137 ft to 3,895 m / 12,779 ft Altitude Gain: 1,110 m / 3,642 ft After a restful night and a hearty breakfast, we leave the lush rainforest behind and begin our steady ascent toward the Shira Plateau

. The trail gradually becomes steeper as we move through the heath and moorland zone. As we climb higher, the dense forest gives way to open landscapes and expansive mountain views. Along the way, take time to appreciate the changing scenery as the vegetation becomes more sparse and the terrain more rugged. Eventually, we reach the rim of the Shira Plateau, where breathtaking views stretch across the surrounding landscape. Meanwhile, temperatures continue to drop as we gain altitude, so keep warm layers readily available. The gradual climb provides an excellent opportunity to acclimatize while enjoying one of the most scenic sections of the Lemosho Route.

Day 3

SHIRA 2 CAMP – LAVA TOWER – BARRANCO CAMP:

Elevation: 3,895 m / 12,779 ft to 3,986 m / 13,077 ft Altitude Gain: 91 m / 298 ft Although today’s final elevation is only slightly higher than yesterday’s, this stage plays an important role in acclimatization

. The route allows your body to adjust to higher altitudes while you experience the changing landscapes of Mount Kilimanjaro. From the Shira Plateau, we head east along a scenic ridge toward the junction leading to Kibo Peak. We then continue southeast toward Lava Tower, also known as the “Shark’s Tooth,” which rises to approximately 4,650 m / 15,250 ft. Shortly after Lava Tower, we pass another junction leading toward Arrow Glacier. From here, the trail descends gradually toward Barranco Camp. This descent is particularly valuable for acclimatization, as it allows you to sleep at a lower elevation after reaching a higher point during the day. Finally, arrive at Barranco Camp and settle in for the evening. Enjoy the dramatic mountain scenery and rest well in preparation for the next stage of your Kilimanjaro adventure.

SHIRA 2 CAMP – LAVA TOWER – BARRANCO CAMP:
Day 4

BARRANCO CAMP – KARANGA CAMP:

Elevation: 3986m/13,077ft to 4034m/13,253ft Altitude gained: 48m Following breakfast, we proceed along a steep ridge towards the thrilling Barranco Wall, then onto the Karanga Valley and the junction linking to the Mweka Trail

BARAFU CAMP – SUMMIT:

Elevation: 4,662 m / 15,295 ft to 5,895 m / 19,341 ft Altitude Gain: 1,233 m / 4,046 ft Descent: 3,090 m / 10,150 ft Altitude Loss: 2,789 m / 9,150 ft The most exciting and demanding day of your Kilimanjaro adventure begins early

. You will wake between midnight and 2:00 a.m., have a light breakfast, and prepare for the final ascent to Uhuru Peak. Although the climb is challenging both physically and mentally, the incredible achievement waiting at the summit will keep you motivated. We begin the ascent in the darkness, moving carefully through the steep scree toward Stella Point on the crater rim. Along the way, you may see the Rebmann and Ratzel glaciers glowing in the early morning light. The trail follows a series of switchbacks as you gradually gain altitude. After reaching Stella Point, take a short rest and enjoy the spectacular sunrise over the African landscape. Faster hikers may even reach Uhuru Peak in time to watch the sunrise from the summit itself. From Stella Point, continue for approximately one hour toward Uhuru Peak, the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro and the entire African continent. Snow and ice may cover parts of the trail, so maintain a steady pace and follow your guide's instructions. Congratulations! You have reached Uhuru Peak at 5,895 m / 19,341 ft. Take time to celebrate this remarkable achievement, capture photographs, and enjoy the unforgettable views. This is a moment you will remember for a lifetime. After celebrating at the summit, begin the long descent toward Mweka Camp. Stop at Barafu Camp for lunch and a short rest before continuing downhill. The descent can be challenging because of loose gravel and volcanic ash. Therefore, gaiters and trekking poles are strongly recommended for better stability and protection. Finally, arrive at Mweka Camp for a well-deserved rest. Enjoy your final evening on Mount Kilimanjaro and reflect on the incredible journey you have accomplished.

BARAFU CAMP – SUMMIT:
Day 7

MWEKA CAMP – MWEKA GATE – ARUSHA:

Elevation: 3106m/10,190ft to 1633m/5358ft Altitude lost: 1473m Following breakfast and a heartfelt ceremony of appreciation and team bonding with your crew, it’s time to bid farewell

. We continue our descent to the Mweka Park Gate to receive your summit certificates. Given the considerably warmer weather, the terrain becomes wet, muddy, and steep, making gaiters and trekking poles highly recommended. From the gate, a vehicle will await you at Mweka village to transport you back to your hotel in Arusha.
